Jesus gathered disciples around himself, sharing his love with them and forming them into a community of prayer, fellowship and service. Similarly community life plays an essential role in the formation of priests , who will be called to lead communities of the faithful in their parishes  and other ministries.

The diocesan college and the whole seminary constitute a community of faith, which, on the human level brings together men of varied ages, temperaments, talents, cultures, and ethnic and professional backgrounds. Here is a truly Catholic community , deeply rooted in Christ Jesus, centred on the Eucharist and sacramental life and imbued with the spiritual heritage of the Catholic church This diversity, reflective of the universal church, creates a climate where mutual respect, responsible communication and purposeful collaboration may take place. Seminarians are challenged to grow to full adulthood and accept maturely the responsibilities of discipleship and ministry.

The seminarians are expected to share in the ordinary work of the community such as preparing meals, cleaning the dining room and other rooms, as well as maintaining the lawns and gardens of the seminary.
